Hooked on Books

Hooked on Books

Hooked on Books is an annual book drive competition for schools throughout the metro that takes place in January and February. The school that the collects the most new and gently used books wins bragging rights, a $500 gift certificate from Scholastic Books, and representatives from your school will be invited to Reach Out and Read's annual Breakfast. More importantly, this effort provides a great opportunity for kids to help kids. All books collected are sorted and redistributed to ROR and other organizations and schools needing books.

Thank you to all of the schools that participated! Hooked On Books 2017 collected over 24,000 gently used books for RORKC and other literacy organizations across Kansas City.  Congratulations to Manchester Park Elementary for collecting the most books of any school!

To sign up to participate or receive books from Hooked On Books 2018, check back in October 2017.
