Hooked on Books

Join schools throughout the metro for Reach Out & Read KC's 20th annual Hooked On Books book drive competition. The school that collects the most new and gently used books per student, wins bragging rights, a pizza party for one classroom, and a $500 gift certificate from Scholastic Books to use at your next book fair!

Most importantly, Hooked On Books provides a great opportunity for kids to help kids. All books collected are sorted and redistributed to organizations and schools who need your help.

1. Sign up and schedule your book drive for any time January 8 - March 9, 2018.

Please note that HOB volunteers will only be available to pick up your books from February 5-March 16, 2018, so plan your drive accordingly.

2. Spread the word that you'll be collecting new and gently-used children's books appropriate for infants to 14-year-olds.

3. Count the books and report your results by March 16, 2018. After your drive, donated books will be picked up by a Reach Out and Read volunteer.

Sign up today.

Reach Out and Read will deliver collection bins and posters before your drive begins.
